The Victoria Mothers Day Garden Tour has been an important fund raising event for the Victoria Conservatory of Music since 1982. The tour is the brainchild of George and Ann Nation. For 20 years they coordinated the gardens, grew the plants and organized the plant sale, offered tea and provided music to the visitors.
Terry LeBlanc and Brian Johnston are the coordinators of the tour with major help from the Nations and their broad network of friends and volunteers. They maintain the high standard of private gardens that visitors have come to expect.
Visitors come from all over the world to view and enjoy Victorias acclaimed private gardens. The gardens range from exotic to native, established or new, country acreage to city spaces. Many visitors come armed with cameras to take away ideas for their own gardens. All come to enjoy the beauty and hear the music presented by the students of the VCM.
